Archeological park Andautonia

Open Air Museum

Archaeological site Andautonia is a unique site with an interesting history. Next to the village Ščitarjevo, an area of 2500 square meters, there are remains of an ancient city of the Roman Empire (1st-4th century), and since 1994 an archaeological park has been opened here where visitors can see the remains of the Roman city parts: Roman street, the city beach and the two buildings, and it also provides an insight into Roman necropolis, which was at this location in the first century.

If you want to be a part of the Roman world, at least for a day, we invite you to visit Andautonia in the spring, when the event, "Spring in Andautonia", also known as "Andautonia Days" takes place, and in September, when visitors have the opportunity to participate in the Dionysian celebrations. Both events through various exhibitions, workshops and plays present to visitors particular themes from Roman life, and if you want you can try out Roman clothing, food and drink according to old recipes and play an ancient football.
