Hunting and hunting tourism are developed in the region of Velika Gorica. There are tens of hunting societies which care for the game preservation and rearing and manage the hunting grounds. The largest hunting grounds are those in the plain, in the Forest Lug, and in Vukomeričke gorice. Natural beauties, rich hunting stock, as well as a good communication with the town of Velika Gorica, Zagreb and Europe, have recently initiated very successful development of hunting tourism. On the area of 50 000 hectares of hunting grounds we can find a lot of deer game, wild boars, hares, pheasants, partridges, quails, woodcocks and wild ducks.
