A carnival, folk custom accompanied by camouflage, jokes, dance and universal noise, is traditionally organised every year in Velika Gorica.
Carnival Republic begins with handing over power and the keys of the town, and the main carnival hosts Piglet, Onions and Acorn prepare each year a rich program for all ages. The highlight of carnival madness awaits you in the great carnival procession through the town centre, in which a large number of domestic and foreign groups are involved, while a day later at the Small Carnival, the most attractive masks, made by children from Velika Gorica kindergartens and primary schools are being elected.
